Just an update of my Krystal project, I’m now in Phase 2 of it. Along with the texturing work I’ve redone most of the model and fixed almost all of the UV’s for normal mapping. I’ve painted almost all of the textures and hand painted all of the normal maps on it. Normal maps hate me so it’s been a difficult project to texture.

I’m of the mentality that if you can’t paint it yourself you really shouldn’t use textures to fake it; basically I do things the hard way so I can use stock textures and know how to fix them to use. I’m just not using them on this project…

I still have a few things to model and texture, pretty much the only things I have left to model are her shoes and her staff; to texture shoes, staff, necklace and pendants. That’s a few days work still but it’s coming along.

I also need to take a closer look at some of the textures against my reference. I noticed that Krystal has green eyes; I just haven’t gotten around to fixing that yet. I also need to look at the gradients of the body because her fur is to much of a solid color.

I’d like to think I’m doing this to specs. So I’m going to make it as close as I can see to the actual model.

Krystal has teal eyes actually, as is her lower gem. Her upper one is red, and her muzzle is really thin, especially compared to Fox's. Just things about Krystal that not everyone gets right. Also, she has a marking like ] | [ on her back.

Looks pretty good so far ^^

if you could find a picture of the marking on her back i'll add it but I haven't found any evidence of it.

I'd get you an actual screenshot if I had my gamecube connected. Trust me, it's there. Just like in that model.

Here's another thing, incase you missed it (I can't see it). The tatoo on her leg, the outer spiral end points downward with the top of it going towards her rear, see image: [link]

Where's her bellybutton? Wonderful work! Keep it up.

I have the marking on the waist. in fact i used that picture as reference. and your rite about that mark on the back. it took a little more looking but i found it. someone posted the E3 demo of SFA on Googgle Video Here

i was also beating my head against the wall on Krystals Face. I can draw her but on paper very she is stylized. i would really like better reference. I can't find any images that seem good enough to use so I'm stuck drawing it myself. it may seem a little late in the game but i can still remodel the face if i have refrence. it would be a great help to the project if you could dig that up
