Laser model - Team-Dystopia

This is going to be my premier post of this subject. I got a position on a HL2 mod, you may or may not be familiar with it although for those of you who recognize the name Team-Dystopia it’s a really big deal ^^

Anyway, I recently got permission to post some renders of the stuff I’m working on although I’m not going to post to much because I don’t like to saturate information on what I’m doing and I usually ask permission on specific projects to make sure I’m not stepping over someone.

Anyway, on to the model; this is a futuristic mining laser. Its going to be a central prop in a map and I think its going to work out pretty cool if I can get it to work. As you can see the model is done, so is the texture the last remaining things that need to be hammered out are the problems I’m having with the collision model although those may seem kind of minor when you start a project they have a way of beating the sanity out of you when it’s the last and only thing holding it back from being a publishable prop.

It’s animated but I think I’ll hold off on showing that off. You’ll have to play the game to get a good look at those ^^
